Mockup note, removed once confirmed: [CONFIRM the format — Italian deli? café? trattoria? both?] — and above all [CONFIRM which side pays the rent], because that decides which panel comes first on a phone.

Why this site opens with two doors

Nobody knows what you are

What the research found. The source spreadsheet carried no description at all — not one word. The only confirmed channel is the Instagram profile @paradisomercatoecaffe, which serves a login wall to any server-side request: no bio, no menu, no hours, no address, no phone. Everything we think we know comes from translating the handle: mercato (market) + e caffè (and café).
The possible readings, all of them live. (a) an alimentari of Italian imports — pasta, oil, wine, cheese, cured meat — with a coffee counter; (b) a café and light-lunch spot with a small retail shelf as a secondary line; (c) a full trattoria using “mercato e caffè” as branding rather than as a description; (d) a specialty roaster with an Italian pantry range. [CONFIRM which]

If a paid researcher holding the handle cannot say what the business is, a customer in Florianópolis holding a phone certainly cannot. That ambiguity is the product problem, and the website is the fix. One screen — the one above, with two doors — resolves in three seconds what the Instagram grid has never resolved.

Second, and it is worth money: the mercato inventory is a search asset you are throwing away. Every category on your shelves — massa italiana Florianópolis, azeite importado Floripa, queijos italianos Florianópolis — is a search somebody is running today and finding a competitor for. A retail category page ranks; an Instagram post does not.

Every one of these five claims needs confirming before it ships. All five are left visible, with the confirmation showing, rather than written as five confident sentences that might not be true.

Highlights and menu

This rail and the menu below come from the same data file at the top of script.js, commented in plain language, so the real content can be pasted in during the meeting without touching markup or CSS. Today it is deliberately empty.

Full menu

The full menu is built from the data file in script.js. With JavaScript off this section shows this note rather than disappearing — and once the real items land, they ship in the HTML itself.

Il Mercato

The shelf, with shelf labels

A category grid, not a menu list: each tile opens a product strip in shelf-label typography — small-caps name, origin line, monospaced price.

Do you ship or sell online? [CONFIRM] — if you do, this section is the seed of a real store, and Brazilian distance-selling rules then apply: a 7-day right of withdrawal, stated delivery timeframes and full supplier identification. That is phase-two scope. No store has been quietly built here.

Dish / Coffee of the day

The block that bridges the two halves

A single rotating feature, editable from the same data file in script.js. It is the cheap place to change every week without touching the rest of the site.

La Storia

Our story

This paragraph is deliberately empty. Who the owners are, why Italian, whether there is a family connection, what year it opened: [CONFIRM all of it].

We have not invented an Italian-family origin story. It is the most tempting and most damaging fabrication available on this lead: it writes itself, it sounds perfect, and it collapses on the first customer who asks “so which region is your family from?”. A true story, even a plainer one, survives the follow-up question.

Founding year: [CONFIRM]. Owners’ names: [CONFIRM]. Registered trading name: [CONFIRM].

Provisions & hampers

Orders, hampers and Christmas

Gift baskets, party platters, corporate orders and occasion boxes. High margin and heavily seasonal in Brazil — Christmas above all. [CONFIRM whether you do this at all].

How to order

The room

Can you work here?

In Florianópolis that question drives a genuinely large market — a whole morning of remote work, with spend attached. It is worth answering on the site, and worth answering honestly.

  • Space for a real review

[CONFIRM — pull verified Google reviews before launch]

  • Google profile

Is there a Google Business Profile? [CONFIRM]. And worth noting: Google supports two categories — a mercato-caffè should claim a café and a store listing.

  • Nothing has been fabricated

No testimonial and no rating has been written. An invented review is misleading advertising under art. 37 of the Brazilian consumer code.

Address, hours and how to get here

A mercato-caffè lives on walk-in trade, so the neighbourhood is the most important SEO input on this lead — more than any island-wide term. Candidates, once confirmed: Lagoa da Conceição, Centro, Campeche, Santo Antônio de Lisboa, Ribeirão da Ilha.

Booking / Pre-order

One band, two possible behaviours

A mercato-caffè lives on passing trade, so this band is deliberately secondary. If there is table service it becomes a booking. If it is counter-only it becomes a pre-order and catering block — the same band, different copy. [CONFIRM which]

This band ships empty

Allergens & labelling

Two different duties in one shop

This block matters more here than in an ordinary restaurant, because a mercato-caffè has prepared food on one side and packaged shelf goods on the other, and the rules are not the same.

  • Prepared food — RDC 26/2015

Mandatory per-item declaration: wheat (gluten), milk, egg, soy, tree nuts, peanuts, fish and crustaceans as applicable, plus a cross-contact statement. [CONFIRM] per item, with the kitchen.

  • Gluten — Lei 10.674/2003

“CONTAINS GLUTEN” or “GLUTEN FREE” is mandatory, and in a place with pasta and bread the cross-contact risk is high enough to deserve its own sentence. [CONFIRM]

  • Packaged goods

The label governs. This site does not paraphrase a label, does not invent an ingredient list and makes no nutritional claim. Once there are products, the instruction is to photograph or link the label, never to rewrite it.
