Sixteen units, seven low blocks, an entire garden

“Since 1999, a history of enchanting everyone on the Island of Magic!” — a few steps from Praia do Campeche and facing Ilha do Campeche.

Check availability

The date field is the single biggest fix on this page. The current site’s form asks for adults and children, with an age selector, and renders no date field at all — a guest cannot say when they want to come. This one keeps their fields and adds what is missing. Dates in DD/MM. It checks no calendar and shows no rate: none is published, and neither is the sustainability fee — [CONFIRM].

The Lodge

Opened in September 1999

“Strategically located in the heart of Florianópolis, a few minutes’ walk from the beautiful Praia do Campeche, without doubt one of the loveliest beaches in Florianópolis, the charm of this ecological lodge enchants any visitor.”Their own copy, verbatim

“The 16 comfortable units are integrated into the nature of the garden, giving guests the chance to experience a corner of peace and harmony.”Their own copy, verbatim

⚠ Two words were removed from these quotations, and it is worth saying which. The current site writes “award-winning garden” and, further down, “the various awards received confirmed the quality and excellence of this small and charming ecological hotel”. Not one award is named anywhere on the site. An award claim with no award, no body and no year is a liability under art. 37 of the Brazilian consumer code, so neither made it in here. [CONFIRM which awards, who granted them and in what year — or remove both lines]

Sustainability

The part of this business that is hidden on a sub-page

This is the only lead in the batch that can actually substantiate its eco claim — and on the current site all of it sits on a sub-page, as running text, with not one image. Every line below is theirs, word for word.

  • Demolition-wood furniture

“In every unit the furniture was designed and built exclusively for the lodge, all of it made from demolition wood.”

  • Seven low blocks

“We kept it horizontal and divided the buildings into 07 distinct blocks, distributed harmoniously across the site, to minimise the visual impact.”

  • Cross ventilation on the wind axis

Every unit designed with cross ventilation on a north/south axis, which corresponds to “98% of the winds at Campeche beach”. Openings face north to maximise daylight, and upper-floor units have double-height ceilings.

  • LED with photocells and motion sensors

External and common-area lighting in LED with photocells and motion sensors; LED inside the units too, except where it would spoil the room.

  • Electric showers, and the reasoning

They publish why they chose electric showers over solar: Florianópolis’s high seasonality, the colder climate, the low solar incidence for most of the year in the south of Brazil, and the water savings. That is an unusual piece of transparency and it deserves to be seen.

  • Central minibar

In-room fridges exist but are switched off by default, with all the drinks in a single fridge at reception. Anyone who wants theirs on can switch it on.

  • Linen

Towels changed every two days and sheets every four, to control effluent.

  • Waste

Selective collection on site, with a dedicated communal separation space.

  • Local suppliers

Breakfast made with regional seasonal produce and traditional local family recipes; suppliers “sourced entirely from local suppliers”, chosen partly for their own sustainability commitment.

  • A sustainability fee since 10/2020

“From October 2020 we decided to create a sustainability fee, which is allocated 100% to sustainable purposes.” [CONFIRM the amount and how it is disclosed at booking — a mandatory fee has to appear before checkout]

Certifications

Three cited, none with a number

The current site cites three certifications. None carries a certificate number or a validity date, and certification programmes lapse — several of these date from an era of Brazilian tourism policy that has since changed. No mark is displayed here. All three stay as marked slots until a current certificate exists.

  • Programa de Certificação do Turismo Sustentável

With APEX support and BIRD funding, in the field of international trade in sustainable tourism — in their own words.

  • Sistema de Gestão Sustentável

In business management, with the support of the Instituto de Hospitalidade (IH) and the Programa Bem Receber.

  • Contra Exploração Sexual de Crianças no Turismo

A certificate against sex tourism. A serious commitment, and for that exact reason the one that least belongs on a page without being current.

About the “Sem Ar”. This unit’s name says it has no air conditioning — and that is consistent with their cross-ventilation architecture, not a gap. Here it reads as passive cooling by design, not as a missing amenity. [CONFIRM they are comfortable with that framing]

Beach Office

The highest-upside product, currently the seventh item in a dropdown

“Our newest launch, the Beach Office, a luxury suite with all the equipment you need to bring your office to our lodge.” That is their sentence. A purpose-equipped executive suite at an eco lodge minutes from Campeche, in a city that has become one of Latin America’s largest remote-work destinations — and it appears as the seventh item in a dropdown, with no page, no rate and no path to a monthly stay.

Complimentary yoga, the pool, the garden and the woodland

Breakfast

Two pages of the site say different things

This section has not been written, and the reason is the contradiction below. Both lines are live today, on different pages of the same site. A guest who books will find out which one is true.

Homepage“The delicious homemade breakfast and the personal service are our signatures”
Sustainability page“The homemade breakfast (temporarily suspended)”

[CONFIRM the current breakfast status — and correct whichever page is wrong] Once resolved, the section has good content waiting: regional seasonal produce, traditional local family recipes and entirely local suppliers.

Events and retreats

Sala Luz da Vida, the meeting room and the Yoga centre

“We have an excellent setting to host your event with comfort and exclusivity.” An eco lodge with an events room, a meeting room, a yoga centre, a garden and a shared kitchen is a retreat venue by construction — and today an event enquiry arrives through the same funnel as a one-night booking.

A technical note

Three template strings live on the site

Put carefully, because it is nobody’s fault in particular: today the homepage and the Sustainability page display, as visible text inside their sliders, the strings “Escreva sua legenda aqui”, “Título do Slide” and “Button”. They are template defaults that were never filled in and shipped to production as they were.

Not serious in itself. It is a symptom: it shows nobody has looked at the site in a while — which fits with the date field that does not exist in the booking form and with the breakfast contradiction. All three are quick fixes.

Campeche

Facing Ilha do Campeche

“All of it a few steps from the beach and facing the famous island of Campeche.” The exact distances are theirs to confirm — we have estimated none.
