Bespoke joinery in Ingleses

The north of the island, high density and one of the largest short-let stocks in the city. Joinery here is almost always a problem of repetition and of wear.

Series work, not a single piece

Six apartments with the same wardrobe are not six identical pieces: they are six openings. The adjustment clearance goes into the drawing and the fit becomes predictable.

Wear from people who are not the owner

A holiday property is used by strangers. Hardware, edges and handles take far more than they would in a home — and spares held in stock are worth more than a sophisticated finish.

Close to the beach with no vegetation in the way

Much of the neighbourhood is directly exposed to sea wind. The coastal specification, in its own section on this site, applies here at full weight.

This page does not claim that Wood Art serves this neighbourhood. The list of areas came from the brief, not from the workshop, and none of them has been confirmed. [CONFIRM real coverage]
Why one page per neighbourhood. It is the highest-return local-SEO block for this trade and no competitor in this market has one. Each page needs its own text — built from what actually changes technically in that place — not a template with the name swapped.

Timber on the coast

What salt air does to your piece — and what changes in the specification

A house 200 metres from the sea in Florianópolis is not the same joinery job as a flat in the centre. None of this is opinion: it is specification.

Why this section exists. Every joinery workshop on this island sells “fitted furniture”. Not one answers the single variable that decides whether the piece reaches five years. Answering it is owning the specification conversation.

Humidity that rises and falls every day

Near the sea, relative humidity swings far more than it does inland. Solid timber expands and contracts with it, and the design has to allow that movement: a groove instead of rigid glue, calculated clearances on doors and drawers, and the dimensional reference chosen for the worst case, not the average.

The edge is where the piece dies first

In panel work, water almost never gets in through the face. It gets in through the edge: the top of a door, a sink cut-out, a foot standing on a wet floor. Sealing the edge and applying the banding properly matter more than any colour choice.

Hardware is the component that corrodes

Hinges, runners and handles are metal in salt air. The corrosion class of the hardware is a line in the estimate, not a detail. [CONFIRM which hardware is specified near the sea]

Ventilation behind the unit

A unit pressed against a wall that breathes collects moisture at the back. A standoff and an air path change the working life of the piece more than any varnish does.

Direct sun ages the colour

The face turned to the sun shifts tone before the others. That is not a defect, it is how timber behaves — but it has to be said at the moment of choosing, not two years later.

Repair rather than replacement

A penetrating finish repairs locally; a film repairs as a whole. Anyone living near the sea should be choosing with the repair in mind, not only with how the piece leaves the workshop.

Any specific product recommendation — varnish, sealer, hardware class — comes after the studio confirms what it actually uses. [CONFIRM the coastal specification the workshop really follows]
