Service area

The twelve areas from the brief — none of them confirmed

This list came from the brief, not from the workshop. No area has been confirmed as served, and the diagram beside it is a drawing rather than a map: with no workshop address there is no origin to draw a radius from.

[CONFIRM which of these areas the workshop actually serves, and whether it delivers beyond Grande Florianópolis] Five of them already have a page of their own as a local-search base; the other seven stay as a list until they are confirmed.

Cannot find your neighbourhood? Ask — the real coverage is still to be defined.

Timber on the coast

What salt air does to your piece — and what changes in the specification

A house 200 metres from the sea in Florianópolis is not the same joinery job as a flat in the centre. None of this is opinion: it is specification.

Why this section exists. Every joinery workshop on this island sells “fitted furniture”. Not one answers the single variable that decides whether the piece reaches five years. Answering it is owning the specification conversation.

Humidity that rises and falls every day

Near the sea, relative humidity swings far more than it does inland. Solid timber expands and contracts with it, and the design has to allow that movement: a groove instead of rigid glue, calculated clearances on doors and drawers, and the dimensional reference chosen for the worst case, not the average.

The edge is where the piece dies first

In panel work, water almost never gets in through the face. It gets in through the edge: the top of a door, a sink cut-out, a foot standing on a wet floor. Sealing the edge and applying the banding properly matter more than any colour choice.

Hardware is the component that corrodes

Hinges, runners and handles are metal in salt air. The corrosion class of the hardware is a line in the estimate, not a detail. [CONFIRM which hardware is specified near the sea]

Ventilation behind the unit

A unit pressed against a wall that breathes collects moisture at the back. A standoff and an air path change the working life of the piece more than any varnish does.

Direct sun ages the colour

The face turned to the sun shifts tone before the others. That is not a defect, it is how timber behaves — but it has to be said at the moment of choosing, not two years later.

Repair rather than replacement

A penetrating finish repairs locally; a film repairs as a whole. Anyone living near the sea should be choosing with the repair in mind, not only with how the piece leaves the workshop.

Any specific product recommendation — varnish, sealer, hardware class — comes after the studio confirms what it actually uses. [CONFIRM the coastal specification the workshop really follows]

From briefing to studio

Send the reference. Get the drawing and the estimate.

You do not need to know anything about joinery to start. A photo, a Pinterest image, the architect’s detail drawing or simply the measurements of the wall are enough.

01

Send the reference

A photo of the room, a Pinterest screenshot, the architect’s plan, or the wall measurements written on paper. Any of them starts the conversation.

02

Get the drawing and the estimate

A drawing and a written estimate before anything is cut. Materials, labour and dates itemised.

03

We make it and install it

The piece is made in the studio and fitted in place. [CONFIRM whether installation is in-house or subcontracted]

A prior written estimate, free and without obligation. That is not a courtesy: art. 40 of the Brazilian Consumer Code requires the supplier to provide a prior estimate itemising labour, materials and start and finish dates. It binds the supplier for 10 days from receipt unless otherwise agreed, and nothing outside it can be charged without authorisation.
Payment. Pix, card, instalments, deposit and balance — none of it was given to us. [CONFIRM the payment structure] No payment method has been assumed on this page.

This site publishes no price, no rate per metre and no lead time, and this form calculates none. None was given to us, and an invented figure in an estimate is the worst thing you can put in front of somebody about to commission a piece that will take months.
