From the DWG to the estimate

Three different conversations: the one with whoever specifies, the one with whoever runs a short-let, and the one with whoever needs to know where joinery ends.
For architects and interior designers
A professional who specifies joinery is worth many one-off commissions — and there is not, in this market, a single page written for them.

A finish sample and a joint prototype before any series production. [CONFIRM whether samples are charged]
One version of the drawing at a time, with a record of what changed and who approved it. Without that, a revision turns into a scope argument.
Who goes in first, what has to be ready on site, and what the workshop brings. [CONFIRM whether there is a site visit beforehand]
Guesthouses and holiday properties
A different buyer and a different cycle. A guesthouse room is used by strangers, every day, and its joinery is a durability problem before it is an aesthetic one.
Twelve identical rooms are twelve different openings. A series piece needs its adjustment clearance designed in, not improvised on the day.
A door, a drawer and hardware held as spares are worth more than a sophisticated finish. Break it in high season and you swap it rather than rebuild it.
The reception counter is the one piece every guest touches. It is treated as commercial furniture, not domestic furniture.
Guesthouses refit out of season. The production calendar has to fit the window, and that is agreed in advance. [CONFIRM schedule availability]
How we work with other trades
Saying this out loud prevents the most common scope argument in the trade, which is finding out on delivery day that the countertop was never included.
Granite, marble, quartz and a carved basin are another trade and another measurement — taken after the joinery is installed and levelled.
A glass door, a closet mirror and a glass shelf come through a specific supplier, with the measurement taken on site.
An upholstered bedhead, a bench with a seat pad and a window cushion combine a joinery structure with an upholsterer’s covering.
Service area
This list came from the brief, not from the workshop. No area has been confirmed as served, and the diagram beside it is a drawing rather than a map: with no workshop address there is no origin to draw a radius from.
Cannot find your neighbourhood? Ask — the real coverage is still to be defined.
Schematic of the areas listed, no scale. Not a map, and not a representation of real coverage. [CONFIRM]
