The studio

The workshop, the coastal specification, and the story of the domain on our lead sheet that turns out not to be theirs.

The studio

Who makes it, where, and what the studio does not do

A joinery studio describes itself by three things: where the workshop is, who is at the bench, and what the studio refuses to take on. None of the three could be verified for this text.

No years in operation, team size, machine list or project count appears here. None of it was captured. “More than X years” without a source is exactly the sentence that costs you the trust of somebody about to commission an expensive piece. [CONFIRM years in operation and team size]
No stock photograph stands in for a real person from this workshop. The studio images show other people’s workshops and hands, labelled as placeholders. A portrait of whoever is at the bench comes from the studio itself, with written permission.

Timber on the coast

What salt air does to your piece — and what changes in the specification

A house 200 metres from the sea in Florianópolis is not the same joinery job as a flat in the centre. None of this is opinion: it is specification.

Why this section exists. Every joinery workshop on this island sells “fitted furniture”. Not one answers the single variable that decides whether the piece reaches five years. Answering it is owning the specification conversation.

Humidity that rises and falls every day

Near the sea, relative humidity swings far more than it does inland. Solid timber expands and contracts with it, and the design has to allow that movement: a groove instead of rigid glue, calculated clearances on doors and drawers, and the dimensional reference chosen for the worst case, not the average.

The edge is where the piece dies first

In panel work, water almost never gets in through the face. It gets in through the edge: the top of a door, a sink cut-out, a foot standing on a wet floor. Sealing the edge and applying the banding properly matter more than any colour choice.

Hardware is the component that corrodes

Hinges, runners and handles are metal in salt air. The corrosion class of the hardware is a line in the estimate, not a detail. [CONFIRM which hardware is specified near the sea]

Ventilation behind the unit

A unit pressed against a wall that breathes collects moisture at the back. A standoff and an air path change the working life of the piece more than any varnish does.

Direct sun ages the colour

The face turned to the sun shifts tone before the others. That is not a defect, it is how timber behaves — but it has to be said at the moment of choosing, not two years later.

Repair rather than replacement

A penetrating finish repairs locally; a film repairs as a whole. Anyone living near the sea should be choosing with the repair in mind, not only with how the piece leaves the workshop.

Any specific product recommendation — varnish, sealer, hardware class — comes after the studio confirms what it actually uses. [CONFIRM the coastal specification the workshop really follows]

About the website on our lead sheet

The address recorded for Wood Art Marcenaria is akilar.com.br. It was fetched in full on 09/09/2026 and it is not this workshop’s website: it is AkiLar, a home-services listings portal based in Jaraguá do Sul that sells advertising plans to trades and whose own terms disclaim being a service provider. The strings “Wood Art” and “marcenaria” appear nowhere on that page; “Marceneiros” exists only as one of roughly a hundred directory categories.

The portal is visibly stale: its own professional counter renders literally as “São mais de 0 empresas e profissionais à sua espera!”, many nav and footer links are dead anchors, and the stack runs an already-deprecated Facebook Graph v2.12. The most likely explanation is that Wood Art has a listing inside it and that whoever built the lead sheet recorded the portal root. That listing page could not be retrieved and could not be confirmed to exist. [CONFIRM the real domain — or confirm there is none]

Testimonials

This section is empty on purpose

No review of this workshop could be found anywhere — not on the portal where the listing probably sits, and not on any other platform. No name, score, review count or testimonial has been written to fill this space. The block stays built and empty until a real testimonial exists, with permission from whoever gave it. [CONFIRM — real testimonial]

For scale: on that portal’s featured listings, almost every entry reads “Sem avaliações” — no reviews.
